So...let's pretend for a minute.
Let's pretend I just handed you a beautiful vintage glass full of freshly squeezed lemonade with a sprig of fresh mint sticking out the top. Ok, now follow me on a little walk around my yard so I can show you what I've been taking care of, talking to, and babying all summer. That first picture is one of the two pots I have at my front door...yes, we're standing in the front yard right now....together...you and me...with the lemonade, remember?
Ok...now come around the corner and see the crazy vines that are trying to trap us in by blocking off all doors and windows. We need to do a little trimming here...hmmm, Jarrod?? Let's keep moving before the vines grow over our heads.
Ok, now we're in the back yard. I love it back here. I did not take a picture of the whole thing in it's entirety, but I definitely could...it's not that big. But it's all fenced in and safe for the babes. It's also really intimate. It's the perfect place for sipping morning coffee...or lemonade, right?
By the way, need a refill?
Here's my little herb garden in a metal tub thingy. I labeled the herbs to ease your curiosity. There's also some parsley, coriander, and cilantro, but they're hiding. Herbs can be shy.
This is my dad's old workbench turned potting bench....
...and upon it sits these guys.
This is a science experiment that actually succeeded. We were studying plants this spring and I read in a book that you could take the seeds from your citrus fruit, soak them overnight and plant and they'll grow. I did not believe this, so I tried it and it worked! Only bad part is I can't remember now what I ate to get to this point...was it a grapefruit?
or an orange?
or a lemon?
Bye, now...hope you enjoyed looking at my flowers...and the lemonade.
Um, I'll take that glass back...thanks!
ta ta ;)
